C-Span Flooring System

A lightweight engineered steel floor system built for multi-level load transfer

C-Span is designed to replace web or timber joists with an engineered steel solution that improves service integration, installation speed and floor performance across residential and commercial projects.

C-Span floor system installed within a steel structure

C-Span is a light weight flooring system designed to replace web or timber joists.

Manufactured utilising state of the art rollformers the system comprises both joists and perimeter frame with the joists sitting at the same level as the perimeter, achieving a full load transfer for multi-level dwellings providing strength and reliability.

C-Span is suitable for both residential and large scale multi-level residential or commercial buildings producing dedicated C and U profiles of 300mm. The C-Span machine's unique punching system provides provisions for easy installation of the HVAC and MEP, along with other electrical and plumbing services, without compromising joint or profile strength.

C-Span joists are pre-punched with service holes to provide sufficient space for electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning services within the joist. Our trucks are fitted with HIAB cranes with substantial reach so C-Span can be delivered to site without the additional cost of crane hire and, for most two level jobs, no crane is needed to load the joist as they are light enough to be man handled.

Why C-Span works on site

  • Floor materials are screwed with specialised wing-tek screws and glues to the joist which virtually eliminates squeaks.
  • C-Span engineered steel floors can be panelised on site then installed using a mobile crane in minutes rather than hours or days.
  • Pre-punched flared service holes allow services to be installed without modifying the floor system.
  • Simple tab connections, brackets and lightweight handling details make assembly practical for frame carpenters.

No More Squeaking Floors

C-Span is the smart choice to replace timber or web joists for residential mid-floors, with floor materials screwed and glued to the joist to virtually eliminate squeaks.

A Fully Engineered System

C-Span engineered steel floors can be panelised on site then installed using a mobile crane, removing waste and reducing site working risks.

Pre-Punched Service Holes

These allow services to be installed without having to modify the floor system, with flared service holes increasing strength and protecting services from sharp edges.

Frame Carpenters Love It

  • C-Span offers the option to assemble a floor cassette on the ground prior to lifting onto site reducing crane time.
  • C-Span does not need blocking between joists.
  • C-Span is lightweight and easy to man-handle into position.
  • C-Span can often be used to reduce or replace specified structural steel.
  • C-Span offers simple and easy connection details including unique tab connections and brackets.
  • C-Span assembly time is quick so carpenters can immediately start the next level.

An Attractive Option for LGS Manufacturers

Manufacturing web floor joists is the longest, most costly and complicated part of roll forming for an LGS frame and truss manufacturer. Outsourcing the flooring to C-Span can free up precious run time of LGS rollformers and labour to increase production of frames and trusses without compromising quality.

WeFrameIT Transportable Chassis

A 12 Meter Chassis Assembled in Under Two Hours

Transportable Chassis are engineered for individual designs and built to reduce assembly time, labour intensity and long-term structural risk.

Every Transportable Chassis unit is engineered and customised for individual designs.

Transportable Chassis means no measuring, cutting or welding, offering substantial savings during construction.

Transportable Chassis is up to one-third cheaper than traditionally built chassis, as it is simple to assemble with unskilled labour.

Transportable Chassis is 40% to 50% lighter than a heavy cold rolled steel chassis.

12m chassis Fast install Reduced labour

Transportable Chassis is manufactured from ZINMAG ZM310 steel, offering 7 to 10 times more corrosion resistance than standard GI steel and tested to ASTM B117-19 for corrosion resistance.

Transportable Chassis offers corrosion warranties for modular chassis with up to a 50-year corrosion warranty and a 20-year structural warranty.

Transportable Chassis strength has been independently tested, confirming minimal deflection under load.

WeFrameIT Transportable Chassis Benefits

Designed for Commercial Modular Production

Cost Effective

Purchase cost and assembly time are substantially lower than traditional purlin or hot rolled floor systems.

Warranty

High tensile ZinMag ZM310 steel supports up to 50-year corrosion warranty and 20-year structural warranty options.

Easy Assembly

Joists connect into pre-punched bearer tabs with tek screws, reducing fabrication complexity.

Sustainability

Manufactured from 80% recycled steel and fully recyclable with reusable lifting brackets.

Design Flexibility

Custom designs support diverse foundation systems, flexible widths up to 5.5m, and lengths limited by transport.

Service Ducting

Pre-punched service holes allow plumbing, electrical and air-conditioning runs during factory production.

Independent Testing

Independent Corrosion and Strength Proof

Testing data underpins specification confidence and helps reduce downstream rectification risk.

Independent Corrosion Tests

ZinMag ZM310 steel has been independently tested by a NATA laboratory to ASTM B117-19 for 2,000 hours, reporting no rust or delamination under test conditions.

Independent Strength Tests

Independent deflection testing confirms high-strength performance and supports cleaner install outcomes with less onsite rectification.
